Cardi B. And Offset Welcome Daughter Kulture Kiari
UNITED STATES — It’s official. Belcalis “Cardi B” Almanzar, 25, and husband Offset have welcomed their first child together, daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus.
The couple simultaneously made the announcement via Instagram, on Wednesday, July 11. However, according to their posts, Kiari was born the day before, on July 10.
According to People, their baby girl is Cardi’s first child and the fourth for Offset, who reportedly has three children from previous relationships.
Kulture’s birth comes two weeks after the new mom publicly confirmed she and 26-year-old Kiari Kendrell Cephus (Offset) secretly married in September 2017.
According to People, Cardi was catching flack about possibly having little Kulture out of wedlock. Yet, after news of the couple’s marriage came to light, she addressed the issue via Twitter.
On June 25, as the source reports, the new mom tweeted, “Well now since you lil [nosy] f**kers know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock.”
CARDI ADDRESSES NAME HATERS
Shortly after the announcement, the couple began receiving comments regarding their daughter’s name. It got to the point where the rapper had to address the situation. Via Instagram, she stated:
“Kulture ! Anything else woulda been basic Okrrrrrrruuu!”
She also received both positive and negative responses concerning her nude maternity photos, which are posted to Instagram as well.
One commentator, @bbyc_, says she wasn’t original with the photos’ theme — accusing Cardi of biting Beyoncé’s idea.
“Pulling off a Beyoncé next time do something more original,” the Instagram user notes.
But…that’s the price of success and happiness, right? You’re going to have haters.
If you remember Cardi B.’s April performance via Saturday Night Live (SNL), fans were shocked when cameras panned to reveal her baby bump. Her confirmation happened during the second performance of the show.
Later, in May, she also revealed the baby’s sex for Howard Stern — when he directly asked during his show: “Do you know what you’re having … what are you having?”
“Yes. I’m having a girl,” Cardi responded.
Likewise in May, during an Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance, the rapper said Offset had already come up with the perfect name.
Reportedly, Cardi mentioned: “My dude named the baby. I really like the name.”
She joked saying that her sexy Coachella moves were partly responsible for the pregnancy.
“I was just trying to show the world how I got pregnant in the first place,” Cardi elaborated as the show played video clips from the festival. “Like that, that’s how it happened. That’s where I [was] that day.”
Actually, Cardi told The Breakfast Club that she knew exactly when she conceived Kulture Kiari. While on the show, she mentioned as follows.
“No, it wasn’t planned. It was just one night … it was a good night … that one night, it had to be that night.”
