DMX Speaks Outside Courthouse After Posting $500K Bail For His Massive Federal Case
DMX is temporarily a free man after posting bail a few hours ago in New York City. He looked like he was trying his best to keep his head up when stepped out of the courthouse with his attorney, to speak with the press waiting for him outside.
In case y’all missed our previous report, DMX turned himself into federal law enforcement on Thursday evening (7-13-17). He’s in a tough spot with the Feds and IRS, after they say he hid several years worth of income from the IRS totaling approximately $1.7 million. According to the federal indictment filing, which was reported by TMZ, DMX is charged with 14 counts of tax evasion. If he’s convicted of all 14 counts, he’s facing up to 44 YEARS in federal prison! Here’s What Happened When DMX Appeared In Court:
Via TMZ: DMX is out of jail … posting $500k bond after he was charged with multiple counts of tax evasion. Nicholas Biase, a spokesman for the U.S. District Attorney’s Office, tells TMZ … the rapper pled not guilty to 14 counts of tax evasion. He needed 2 co-signers to pony up the bail. DMX has been slapped with travel restrictions that will require him to stay close to home … in the NYC area. He’ll also be under strict drug testing, and can’t carry any firearms while on bail. We’re told the court will decided at a future hearing if X can leave the NYC area for work purposes.
