‘All Eyez On Me’ Producer LT Hutton Responds To Jada Pinkett-Smith For Slamming Film

Posted On : June 18, 2017

On what would have been Tupac Shakur’s 46th birthday, his long-awaited biopic All Eyez On Me was released. Although the film is already receiving lots of positive feedback from fans, there are a few celebrities and friends of the slain rapper who aren’t pleased with the film’s depiction of his life and legacy. Jada Pinkett-Smith is definitely one of those people. Now, LT Hutton is firing back at the haters, namely Jada.

LT Hutton’s Response:

Shortly after Jada tweeted about the film, LT responded. He explained that although he was “hurt and disappointed” by Jada’s comments, he respects her opinion. However, he believes he depicted their relationship responsibly, reports Bossip.

Pac & Jada:

LT Hutton’s response follows a series of tweets Jada posted about the film. She made it quite clear she wasn’t happy with the depiction of herself and the famed rapper/actor. For those who don’t know, Tupac and Jada were friends long before their rise to stardom and remained best friends up until the time of his death. So, of course, Jada knew Tupac on a personal level that most people did not and she wasn’t exactly pleased with the film. Shortly after the film’s release on Friday, June 15, Jada tweeted a statement sharing her opinion of the biopic.

She tweeted, “Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth.” Jada went on to point out aspects of their friendship depicted in the film that wasn’t exactly true. “Pac never read me that poem. I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book. Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn’t to pursue his career”

“The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful,” she wrote. She also made it clear the actors were not to blame for the depiction. She also applauded the actors for their efforts. “To @KatGraham and @Dshippjr this is no fault of yours. Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles.”

All Eyez On Me is now in theaters everywhere.
