The Feud Is Over! Drake And Meek Mill Have Squashed Their Beef

Posted On : September 9, 2018

This is a great day in hip hop. While Cardi B and Nicki Minaj almost came to blows at Fashion Week, Meek Mill and Drake squashed their beef.

Drake Brought Meek Mill On Stage To Officially End Their Beef:

Drake shocked everyone when he brought Meek Mill on stage. Drake played the TD Garden in Boston, his second stop in the city for his Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour. Calling Meek his brother, Drake allowed Meek to perform his classic song, Dreams and Nightmares.

Meek Mill, that’s my brother, Drake said as the crowd went wild. This right here is a long time coming. This right here is important. This one of my favourite rappers for real, for real. This was my brother. That’s how it started and that’s how we gon’ finish this sh*t for real, Drake stated.

Later in the show, Drake followed up with more:

We need more peace in the world. We need more love in the world. Meek Mill, that’s my brother. That’s my ni**a from day one, so we were able to do this in front of y’all and I’m very honored that you were here to witness it.

Watch It Go Down Below:

It’s refreshing to see these two men end their feud and it may encourage others in hip hop to do the same. Their beef is so old it’s hard to even remember what started it. If you can recall, it all began when Meek made comments alleging that Drake didn’t write his raps.

Drake And Meek’s Feud Began In 2015 When Meek Claimed That Drake Had A Ghost Writer:

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Meek Mill and Drake had beef with each other when Meek made allegations that Drake didn’t write his own raps. Mill took to Twitter to accuse Drake of using a ghostwriter to write his featured verse on Mill’s “R.I.C.O.”

Stop comparing Drake to me too… He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!

At that time, Meek Mill was also upset that Drake didn’t show public support for his album Dreams Worth More Than Money album. After Meek took public aim at Drake, the OVO rapper bodied him on the classic diss track, Back To Back. We all remember that classic line when Drake referenced Meek Mill’s opening slot on Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint tour:

Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/ I know that you gotta be a thug for her/ This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more.

During their beef, Meek Mill was dating Nicki Minaj and during her Pinkprint tour he joined Nicki Minaj on stage to shout out Drake:

I was just upset as a fan… Shout-out to Drake. Let him be great in all the mother—-in’ lanes he’s great in.

After Drake’s “Back To Back” hit, Meek Mill failed to respond and their beef quietly died down but remained. However, while Meek Mill was fighting his legal woes, Drake voiced his support of the Philly rapper.

Drake Voiced His Support For The Philly Rapper During His Time In Prison:

During Drizzy’s concert stop on the Boy Meets World Tour in Melbourne, Australia, the rapper spoke in support of Meek, who was sentenced to years in prison over a probation violation. Drake shouted out Free Meek as the entire hip-hop community was coming together to shine a light on the unfairness in the criminal justice system in the United States.

That was the first step to ending their beef. After that first sign of peace, Drake brought Meek Mill out on stage during the Boston stop of his tour with Migos to publicly show that their beef was squashed.

After Ending Their Beef, Drake And Meek Mill Played Ping Pong:

Not too long after ending their beef, the two were spotted playing a game of ping pong with $20,000 reportedly on the line. With Drake and Meek Mill ending their beef, there may be hope for him and Pusha T.
