Posted On : May 31, 2018

Migos rapper Offset is a new man these days. For the “Bad & Boujee” rapper, life changed in a matter of seconds when he was involved in a near-fatal car accident on May 17. If you hadn’t heard about the news about Offset’s accident, there’s an interesting story behind it that he recently shared. The famed rapper also revealed there was a man who pulled him from his vehicle after the crash. Now, he’s reached out to lend a helping hand to that man and the story of his good deed is going viral.

A Monumental ‘Thank You’:

According to Page Six, Offset wanted to thank the man who helped save his life after he crashed his lime green Dodge Challenger into a tree. So, on Wednesday, May 30, he took to social media with a video of his recent encounter with the man now identified as Jmmar. To show his appreciation, Offset bought Jmmar a brand new car – a 2018 Nissan Altima. On social media, Offset shared a photo he took with Jmmar as they stood in front of the new car. He captioned the photo, “Thank you Jmmar for helping save my life. God is Good.”

Check out the video and Offset’s post:

In the video, Offset explained why he felt compelled to do something great for Jmmar. Apparently, at the time of the car accident, Jmmar was walking from work because he didn’t have a ride. That’s how he saw the accident. After the crash, Jmmar quickly rushed to help Offset because he was trapped inside the vehicle. After pulling him from the car, he got him to a safe place. Since Jmmar was on foot, Offset decided to change that. “He saved my life when I had that accident,” Offset said in the video that captured Jmmar and his brand new Nissan Altima. “He was the only one who seen me, helped me get out of the car, helped me walk and get where I needed to get to. So I bought my boy a car because he was walking to work.”

The Crash:

The latest news about Offset’s good deed follows a string of reports about the crash. It was rumored that Offset crashed his car trying to avoid a crackhead walking in the middle of the street. Initially, the rumors were unclear, but one thing that led fans to believe it was true was the fact that Cardi B. was the person who shared the news. Shortly after Offset’s crash made headlines, his fiance Cardi B. took to Instagram with details about the crash. In the now-deleted post, she wrote, “Crazy how Set had to swerve and hit a tree cause a crackhead was in the middle of the road trying to get hit or kill himself but God do unexplainable things! Luckily a man was walking by, walked him home and just vanished. The Lord is real.”

When TMZ caught up with Offset and asked about Cardi’s post, he confirmed that the story was true. In response to the questions about Cardi’s post, all he said was, “Facts.”

Offset was taken to an Atlanta-area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. At the time, insiders confirmed that he was going to be fine. Initially, there was speculation Offset would face charges for the crash, but it was later confirmed that he would not be charged. Best of luck to Offset and congrats to Jmmar.
