SMH…Suge Knight Indicted After Making Threats Against ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Producer

Posted On : August 6, 2017

If it’s not one thing, it’s another when it comes to Suge Knight. For years, the former Death Row Records CEO has been known to throw his weight around and issue threats to have his way and it looks like he’s attempted to do so again. But, his latest threat may bring serious consequences since he’s already in trouble with the law. It all started with the release of Straight Outta Compton. Apparently, Suge wasn’t too pleased with how he was portrayed in the film. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands and he allegedly addressed the film’s director F. Gary Gray in true Suge Knight fashion.

The Threats:

According to CBS News, Suge – who is already facing murder charges in connection with a fatal 2015 incident – allegedly made death threats toward Gray back in August of 2014. Suge allegedly made “‘an immediate prospect of execution,’ leading Gray to fear for his life and the safety of his family,’ reports the publication.

“It is further alleged that the threatened crime, on its face and under the circumstances in which it was made, was so unequivocal, unconditional, immediate and specific as to convey to Felix Gary Gray a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution,” the indictment read. “It is further alleged that the said Felix Gary Gray was reasonably in sustained fear of his safety and the safety of his immediate family.”

However, Suge’s attorney Matthew Fletcher adamantly denies the claims. “There is certainly no evidence he sent any texts threatening him,” the defense attorney said.

Not Guilty?:

Despite having continued run-ins with the law and a checkered past, Suge has entered a not guilty plea in response to the allegations brought against him in the F. Gary Gray case. Although Suge denies making the threats, his defense team has expressed disdain over the film’s portrayal of Suge deeming it “exaggerated and silly and ridiculous.”

Suge Knight is set to return to court on August 8, 2017, and his trial is set to begin sometime in January of 2018.
