Tragic. Mom Allegedly Sets Autistic 4YR Old Son On Fire, Bound Him W/ 7 Belts
A Milwaukee mother is facing murder charges for the heinous death of her 4-year-old son. According to KTLA, court documents have revealed very disturbing details about the death of Amelia Di Stasio’s son, Antonio Di Stasio. The boy’s death, which reportedly occurred on September 28, was the result of horrific torture as he was set on fire by his own mother. First responders with the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a “report of smoke,” but when they arrived, they quickly discovered much more than they probably anticipated
Not Your Typical Fire:
Initially, the smoke led firefighters to believe they’d be faced with a typical fire. Once inside the apartment, firefighters noted that smoke was reportedly observed coming from the stove and a pile of clothing in the bathtub also appeared to be smoking. Then, firefighters found the 4-year-old’s lifeless body. “The majority of his body was burned,” the complaint said. It was determined that Antonio’s body had been set on fire with “an unknown accelerant.” Inside the apartment, a pet guinea pig was found drowned inside of a cage, and a bottle of canola cooking oil was also found in the bathroom.
The autopsy also revealed a number of disturbing details about the injuries to the child’s body.
Antonio’s Last Days:
Shortly after the child’s death was made public, investigators spoke with an unnamed witness who reportedly lived in the apartment building with Amelia Di Stasio. The woman revealed Amelia had moved in just two short months ago. Apparently, Amelia “wasn’t friendly and kept to herself,” but there were reportedly no signs something was wrong until the day before her son’s death. On September 27, just one day before Antonio’s death, she admitted hearing him say, “Please, Mommy. Stop! I won’t do it again.” Amelia responded by yelling and telling him to “shut up.” On the morning Antonio is said to have died, she reported hearing “a banging noise.”
Hours later, firefighters determined what happened to the child. Needless to say, the Di Stasio family is absolutely devastated. The boy’s grandfather, Ralph Di Stacio, took to Facebook with a statement about his grandson’s shocking death.
Amelia Di Stacio has been arrested and charged with one count of first-degree, intentional homicide in the death of Antonio Di Stasio.
