(Video) Prayers Up! Meek Mill Headed Back To Prison For Violating His Parole
Prayers are needed as rapper Meek Mill is headed back to prison as he violated his probation. His sentence comes after Mill, born Robert Rihmeek William, was arrested twice this year.
Here’s What We Know:
According to TMZ, Judge Genece Brinkley is not letting Meek Mill slide as Brinkley and Mill have history. Brinkley has been involved with Mill’s case since the beginning as she even once ordered him to take etiquette classes as she disapproved of his language on his social media account. Brinkley has been sentenced to prison for a minimum of two years for violating probation. On Monday, the Philadelphia native arrived to court for violating his probation from a 2008 drug and gun case, putting the rising Philadelphia-born artist’s career on hold for at least the next two years. With a courtroom full of supporters, many gasped in disappointment with Brinkley’s decision as she stated that she has given him chances before.
I gave you break after break and you basically just thumbed your nose at this court, Brinkley told Mill. She said Mill’s sentence would be served in state prison where he would be eligible for state parole supervision after two years. Then, I’ll be done with you, Brinkley added.
Before the sentencing, Mill asked for mercy. Speaking to the judge for 40 minutes, Mill insisted that he was not trying to disrespect the judge. Stating that the probation violations were mistakes, Mill stated that he was “human” as he tried to convince the judge to give him leniency.
I’m human. I’m not perfect, Mill told Brinkley in court. I’m asking for mercy. You gave me the ladder to do what I have to do to prevail in my struggle. I made it this far, I can’t really go back and start over.
As much as Mill tried to convince Brinkley, she didn’t change her mind. It was clear that she was fed up with Meek. According to Philly.com, Meek was arrested twice this year and even went into treatment for his addiction to prescription narcotic Percocet pills. However, Meek Mill made a video that went viral as he encouraged people to avoid drugs, particularly “lean”. Nonetheless, Brinkley didn’t mention the positive video.
Meek Mill Speaks Out On The Importance Of Being Sober:
Nicki Minaj’s former ex-boyfriend was found by Judge Brinkley sorting clothes at Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia as he was ordered there for community service. However, Brinkley had a problem that Mill was not serving food to the homeless people. She claims he only began serving food after learning of her presence.
It was only when you realized that I came there to check on you that you decided to serve meals, Brinkley said.
Many people in Detroit, MI, and the students at Syracuse University in New York were disappointed when Meek Mill didn’t show up to perform. What many people didn’t know is that Brinkley ordered Mill to only perform in Philadelphia or Montgomery County only. However, his managers allegedly continued to schedule shows for Mill outside of Brinkley’s ruling.
Meek Mill Arriving To Court:
In August, we reported that Meek was charged with reckless endangerment in New York City. He later plead guilty to reckless driving. Months earlier, in March, he was charged with misdemeanor assault after an altercation with employees at St. Louis International Airport. The charges were dropped after he agreed to perform community service.
Not playing any games, Brinkley ordered Mill immediately taken into custody and he quickly started removing his gold watch and other personal items and handing them to his lawyer, Brian J. McMonagle. who plans to appeal Brinkley’s decision.
